November member of the month
1. Name
Derek Clarkson
2. How long have you been training with Field of Fitness?
Since April 2016
3. What do you love about training with Field of Fitness?
I can honestly say that training at FOF is unique, I have never experienced such a friendly environment to train in, from the moment you walk through the doors to the time you leave, everyone are so welcoming.
The classes themselves have progressively got harder and more intensified. I can notice a difference in my cardio sessions that I am slowly but surely progressing and enjoying the sessions.
4. What do you think has been your greatest achievement whilst you’ve been training with us?
My greatest achievement is actually sticking to it, I have never set foot inside a gym prior to joining FOF, everyone has been so welcoming, to all the staff to all the people you actually train with giving you words of encouragement, the banter etc.
Losing body percentage fat and seeing your body slowly change is a massive confidence booster. My energy
Today also marks 10 months of no smoking for me! If it wasn’t for meBeing into coming to the gym I would still be smoking now. So for me this is huge achievement thanks to FOF.
5. What’s your favourite exercise?
My favourite exercise is the Ski Machine, back Squats with the bar, dumbbell press & deadlifts.
6. What do you want to achieve at field of Fitness in the next 3 months?
To continue to push myself in both cardio & strength classes, continue to lose body fat and see toning in the right places.
7. How has training at Field of Fitness affected you personally?
For me personally, being able to wear clothes that fit and not buying them two sizes too big to hide my beer belly, this gives me the most confidence.
Being able to play football with my Sons or being able to swim with them on holidays without getting out of breath makes me extremely proud of my achievements to date.
To say to family and friends that I enjoy going to the gym still makes them laugh as they still think iam the old Derek that used to laugh at people that exercised.
